Professor Ernest Lam is the Dr. Lloyd & Mrs. Kay Chapman Chair in Clinical Sciences and the Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Graduate Program in the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto. As well, Professor Lam serves as the Associate Dean for Graduate Education in the Faculty. Dr. Lam completed B.Sc.(Hons.), D.M.D. and M.Sc. degrees at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, and spent 2 years in general practice dentistry in Vancouver before completing a Certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and a Ph.D. in Radiation Biology at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, USA. Professor Lam is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, and has served the College as the Councilor for Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, the Chief Examiner in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, and Treasurer. As well, Dr. Lam is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, and has served the Board as a Director, Secretary/Treasurer and President.
