Using Positioners for Indirect Digital Radiography
Course Description:
Welcome to the course on the practical use of PSP (Phosphor Storage Plate) intraoral systems, led by experienced clinicians. In this course, we will explore the clinical techniques and workflow involved in using PSP plates as a digital alternative to conventional film in dental radiography.
The course begins by highlighting the similarities between using PSP plates and traditional film in clinical practice. The placement of the PSP plate holder in the mouth, the use of Rinn positioner kits, and other clinical techniques remain unchanged. This makes the transition from film to a PSP intraoral system relatively seamless for dental offices. We will demonstrate the use of the PSP system with the Rinn positioner kit, as it closely mirrors the clinical techniques used with film.
Throughout the course, we will emphasize that the clinical use of traditional film and the indirect digital technique of PSP plates are practically identical. The only differences lie in the post-exposure processing, clearing, and packaging of the PSP plates for re-use. The PSP system offers the advantage of reduced radiation exposure compared to film, but this does not affect the clinical use of the Rinn positioner kit or other aspects of the workflow.
By the end of this course, you will have a clear understanding of how to incorporate PSP plates into your dental practice and seamlessly integrate them into your existing clinical techniques. Whether you are contemplating a switch from film to digital or simply looking to enhance your digital radiography skills, this course will provide you with practical knowledge and guidance.
Join us in this course and learn how to effectively utilize PSP intraoral systems in your dental practice. Elevate your radiographic capabilities and embrace the benefits of digital imaging while maintaining the familiarity of traditional film techniques.
