The “Dermatology and Women’s Health for Primary Care” conference is a 12-credit continuing medical education event scheduled for July 10-12, 2026, at the Lido Beach Resort in Lido Key, Sarasota, Florida. This conference is designed to provide primary care practitioners with up-to-date, evidence-based information on commonly encountered issues in Dermatology and Women’s Health, while suggesting pragmatic approaches to clinical management. The discussion-based format encourages audience participation through dynamic lectures, case-based studies, and hands-on workshops, with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes through effective diagnosis and treatment.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this program, participants should be better able to:
Diagnose common benign and malignant skin neoplasms, select proper destructive methods, and determine optimal approaches, including specialty referral.
Describe the role of long-acting reversible contraception (LARC), optimize combination contraceptive prescribing, and identify emergency contraception options.
Discuss cardiovascular risks and benefits of Menopausal Hormone Therapy (MHT), summarize evidence on breast cancer risk, and identify current prescribing best practices.
Describe the natural history of HPV infection, identify current Pap testing guidelines, and understand the role of HPV testing in detecting cervical neoplasia.
Discuss the roles and limitations of vaginitis diagnostic tests, manage persistent/resistant vaginitis, and identify other entities causing vaginal symptoms.
Clinically differentiate acne from rosacea, identify etiology differences, and employ proper treatments for both.
Recognize cutaneous signs of internal malignancy and enhance awareness of cutaneous metastatic disease.
Classify itchy patients into clinical groups, recognize what to look for when evaluating pruritus, and manage the symptom of itch.
Recognize how common diseases appear differently in skin of color, manage unique skin diseases in this population, and understand the effects of cultural and medical practices.
Describe the pathophysiology of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and identify management options for its gynecologic and metabolic consequences.
Describe the normal female sexual response model, identify diagnostic categories and etiologies for female sexual dysfunction, and discuss management options.
Target Audience
All Physicians and other Healthcare Professionals seeking clinical information about issues in Dermatology and Women’s Health. Best for Primary Care Physicians, Dermatologists, and Gynecologists.
