1. Overview
The Harvard Front Line Neurology Advances and Innovations 2026 course provides a comprehensive and modern update on the diagnosis and management of complex neurological conditions. The program covers the latest clinical breakthroughs across subspecialties, including neuro-oncology, stroke care, multiple sclerosis, and dementia, while also exploring emerging technologies like AI and noninvasive brain stimulation, alongside critical discussions on global health and health equity.
Neurology is a rapidly advancing field of medicine with many subspecialties. It is critical for the Neurologist and those in allied disciplines to remain up to date in these innovations to provide the best care for patients. This is a major public health challenge as neurologic disorders already impact one in three people world-wide and many neurologic conditions such as stroke and dementia are expected to continue to increase in prevalence in the coming decades.
This two-day course is designed to prepare clinicians to address vanguard topics in neurology including generative artificial intelligence in neurologic care, neurotherapeutics, and gene therapies. The course is designed to increase accessibility for a global and neurodiverse audience of clinicians. Content will be offered with a novel format of videos which will be translated in selected languages to increase accessibility. Video presentations be followed by virtual live case-based discussions with world experts, Q&A sessions, and panel discussions on hot topics in Neurology. The course is accredited and taught by Harvard Medical School faculty. Speakers will include experts in vascular, cognitive (with a focus on dementia), genetics, neuro-oncology, headache, movement disorders, neuro-immunology, neuromuscular disorders, epilepsy and epilepsy surgery, neuromodulation, neuro-critical care, traumatic brain injury and neurorehabilitation, global neurology, health equity, functional neurological disorders, and climate change. Sessions will cover content in each of these disciplines including novel diagnostics and therapeutics.
Course Date: February 27 – 28, 2026
2. Learning Objectives
Integrate Emerging Technologies and Therapies into Neurologic Practice: Evaluate and integrate cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, including generative AI, transcranial magnetic stimulation, and deep brain stimulation, to enhance patient care across a variety of neurological disorders including movement disorders, epilepsy, and headache.
Identify Ways to Integrate Compassionate Care: Identify strategies to effectively manage neurological conditions in the context of global health challenges, health care disparities, transgender neurology, functional neurological disorders and substance abuse, and focusing on impactful interventions that create equitable care for diverse populations.
Demonstrate Knowledge in Dementia, Movement Disorders, Neurogenetics, Neuroimmunology, and Neuro-Oncology: Demonstrate an understanding of recent advances in dementia care, neurogenetics, neuroimmunology, and surgical management of neurological disorders. Participants will apply this knowledge to improve diagnostic accuracy and optimize treatment approaches for diverse neurologic disorders.
3. Target Audience
