USCAP Gastrointestinal Pathology Reaching the Diagnosis in Difficult Cases 2025
90 $
Original release date: January 10, 2025
This case-based interactive microscopy course will help participants remain on the cutting edge of gastrointestinal (GI) pathology and also offer practical solutions to everyday challenges. Participants will learn how to distinguish reactive atypia from neoplasia, identify subtle findings in small tissue samples, determine etiologies of GI tract ischemia, and sign out cases through the lens of the latest literature findings. Sessions focus on separating inflammatory bowel disease from other enterocolitides, evaluating GI findings in immunosuppressed patients, linking upper GI tract findings to lower GI tract disease, and subtyping common and rare forms of colorectal carcinoma.
This course is a collaboration between the Rodger C. Haggitt Gastrointestinal Pathology Society and USCAP.
Target Audience
Practicing academic and community pathologists, and pathologists-in-training
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this educational activity, learners will be able to:
Assess gastrointestinal tract biopsies and resection specimens for causes of ischemia and vasculitis.
Discuss the key diagnostic and clinical findings helpful in distinguishing inflammatory bowel disease from mimics.
Describe the histologic features and differential diagnoses of entities that can affect the gastrointestinal tract of immunocompromised individuals.
Effectively integrate recent literature updates into everyday practice to maximize care of patients with gastrointestinal diseases.
