Penn Radiology Neuro and Chest Imaging Update 2023 (Course)
In this program, Penn Radiology’s distinguished faculty will provide essential insights, challenges, and protocols pertaining to neuroradiology, cardiothoracic, and breast imaging. The focus of this program is practical imaging issues for interpreting a broad range of clinical cases. The discussions will entail multi-modality, innovative practices, potential misinterpretations, and strategies for optimal patient care.
The program features several sessions, starting with Cardiothoracic in Session 1, where lectures on Acute Thoracic Aortic Syndromes, Cardiovascular Tumors in the Chest, Cardiac CT in the Emergency Department, and Acute Pulmonary Embolism are presented. The session will conclude with a panel Q&A featuring multiple faculty.
Session 2, titled Neuro I, will cover How-to-Approach a “New Brain Mass” and Prepare for the Brain Tumor Board – 2021 WHO Updates, Infratentorial Tumors: Diagnostic Pearls, Demystifying the Central Skull Base, and Interactive Case-Based Misses & Misinterpretations in the Brain and Spine. The session will conclude with a Q&A featuring multiple faculty.
Session 3 will be about Lung. It will have lectures on Lung Cancer Imaging, Lung Cancer Survivorship, Advanced Fibrotic Interstitial Lung Disease With Clinical Correlation, LungRADs and Fleischner, To Manage Lung Nodules, Pulmonary Embolism, Diagnostic Dilemma, and Imaging of Long Term Sequelae of COVID-19 Pneumonia, Shortness of Breath: Uncommon Causes. The session will conclude with a Q&A featuring multiple faculty.
Session 4 is dedicated to Thyroid, featuring lectures on Challenges in Thyroid Nodule Characterization, Parathyroid Imaging, and a Q&A with multiple faculty.
Session 5, the Breast session, will cover Updates on Breast Tomosynthesis: Challenging Cases, Imaging of Special Populations, Optimizing Breast MRI Interpretation for High and Average Risk Patients, Imaging the Post-Operative Breast, Cancel That Biopsy! Don’t Touch Lesions in Breast Imaging, and Breast-at-Its Best: Learning and Growing From Opportunity Cases. The session will conclude with a Q&A featuring multiple faculty.
Session 6 is going to be about Neuro II, where experts will cover How-to-Eliminate ‘Mass’ Confusion! Mimics of Adult Intra-Axial Brain Neoplasms, Perfusion Imaging in Acute Stroke: Pearls, Pitfalls & Protocols, Degenerative Spine Imaging, Postoperative Imaging of the Spine, and Interactive Case-Based Misses & Misinterpretations in the Spine. The session will conclude with a Q&A featuring multiple faculty.
Session 7, Chest Pest, Quest and Fest, will cover Typical and Atypical Pulmonary Infections, Diseases of the Pleura, Chest Quest: Learning From Difficult Cases, Incidental Findings in Radiology Practice: Creating a Safety Net for Patients, Chest Fest: Misses and Interpretive Errors, and a Q&A featuring multiple faculty.
