Hospital care models are evolving, with nurse practitioners and physician assistants playing key roles in inpatient care. Mayo Clinic’s Concepts in Hospital Medicine for NPs and PAs is a self-paced, case-based course focused on clinical management, featuring expert-led, evidence-based lectures from admission through discharge.

Target Audience

This course is designed for internists, hospitalists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, and allied health from novice to experienced.

Learning Objectives

Identify signs and symptoms of patients who have developed acute exacerbation of heart failure.
Recognize ways to improve mortality rates and decrease recurrent exacerbations for patients with chronic heart failure.
Recognize appropriate timing for a neurology consultation.
Recognize how to provide high-level care to all patients based on the most recent practice guidelines, medical evidence and standards of care.
