Keck USC 9th Annual Southern California Kidney Symposium 2025
30 $
Date & Location: Friday, June 6, 2025, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Aresty Conference Center – USC Health Sciences Campus, Los Angeles, CA
This is the ninth annual Southern California Kidney Symposium with the theme “Updates on Biologics and Novel Therapeutics for Kidney Diseases.” Invited faculty from USC and several other U.S. academic institutions will present in person or virtually before a live audience of clinical and research faculty and trainees. New clinical and research findings will be presented on topics in several broad areas, including new management strategies in hypertension, advanced CKD, and ESKD, new targets and therapies in the management of glomerular and other progressive kidney diseases, and the impacts of new therapeutics and biologics on onco-nephrology and kidney transplantation.
Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Discuss the roles of new drug therapies in the management of hypertension, hyperphosphatemia, and anemia in CKD and compare them with more established therapies.
Compare the differences, strengths, and weaknesses among newly emerging therapies for IgA nephropathy.
Outline new diagnostic and therapeutic options in the management of membranous nephropathy.
Summarize newly emerging therapeutic options and targets for the treatment of lupus nephritis and C3 glomerulopathy.
Identify and assess new therapies and mechanisms of APOL1-mediated chronic kidney disease.
Recognize the renal side effects associated with newer targeted cancer therapies.
Analyze treatment strategies for antibody-mediated kidney transplant rejection and recurrence of primary disease in kidney transplant patients.
The Keck USC 9th Annual Southern California Kidney Symposium 2025 is best for nephrologists, internists, hospitalists, advanced practice providers, and researchers who want updates on biologics and novel therapeutics for kidney diseases, with a focus on translating cutting‑edge science into clinical practice.
Who Should Attend
Nephrologists and kidney specialists managing chronic kidney disease, glomerular disorders, and transplant patients.
Internal medicine physicians and hospitalists who co‑manage patients with renal complications.
Advanced practice providers (NPs, PAs) working in nephrology or internal medicine.
Researchers and translational scientists studying biologics and novel therapeutics in renal medicine.
Residents and fellows in nephrology or internal medicine preparing for board exams or expanding their clinical knowledge.
