During the preparation of this edition, Mr. Colin Gunn retired from the editorship but, happily, the experience of this outstanding teacher of pharmaceuticshas been available to us during the revision. It was he who, wisely, decidedthat it was no longer possible for one author to prepare a general textbook ofpharmaceutics, and who invited me and several other colleagues from theLeicester School of Pharmacy to help with the work.
