The work presented in these two volumes is the collaborative effort of over twenty undergraduate science faculty. Their common goal was to develop a set of unique and flexible laboratory activities focusing on the theory and practice of biotechnology. While the topics and experiments included represent major areas of biotechnology they may be used in any applicable science course.: The experiments are designed to utilize many resources already available in most science departments.Care has been taken to avoid duplicating research protocols and laboratory experiments that may be available in existing laboratory manuals.
