Section 10 of the Academy’s Basic and Clinical Science Course™ (BCSC®) provides a comprehensive discussion of glaucoma, including epidemiology, genetic factors, intraocular pressure and aqueous humor dynamics, clinical evaluation and imaging of the anterior and posterior segments, perimetry, and glaucoma in children and adolescents.
The various classes of medical therapy for glaucoma are described, including a discussion of the mechanism of action and adverse effects of available agents. New Key Points sidebars and tables accompany the discussion of various surgical procedures.
Section 10 of the BCSC contains a chapter on surgical therapy for glaucoma, which includes 23 surgical videos to enhance learning (sample). Three new interactive case studies are included that present hypothetical patients and their histories, examination results, imaging, differential diagnosis, and management.
