AIUM How to Perform a Detailed Anatomic Ultrasound Examination in the First Trimester (CME VIDEOS)
This video provides an overview of anatomy that can be visualized during a detailed first-trimester sonogram. Fetal biometry acquired during the 11-14 week evaluation is demonstrated. A focus on screening markers, including those seen in the mid-sagittal plane, are evaluated. Precautions regarding ultrasound safety are also discussed.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
* Carry out a systematic evaluation of the fetus in the first trimester;
* Interpret an 11-14 week anatomic assessment;
* Determine the value of the mid-sagittal view of the fetus;
* List the latest markers that may be utilized to screen for various structural abnormalities at 11-14 weeks; and
* Recite the limitations and safety concerns of assessment at 11-14 weeks.
Target Audience
Maternal-Fetal Medicine subspecialists, radiologists, and other health care providers who use obstetric ultrasound.
