6th Annual Radiation Oncology Education for the Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant 2023
The objective of the course is to increase knowledge and to bring together practice initiatives including treatment and coordination of care within the Mayo Clinic Midwest sites of radiation oncology. Information is shared with all of the advanced practice providers within the specialty regarding symptom management and care of the patient undergoing radiation treatments.
Target Audience
This course is designed for nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify the implications for radiation treatment in the curative and palliative setting.
- Recognize how to manage side effects for a patient undergoing radiation treatment as well as during the post-treatment surveillance period.
