1. Overview
The International Society for Environmental Epidemiology 36th Annual Conference 2024 offers a global perspective on the critical intersection of planetary health, climate change, and environmental justice. The program highlights cutting-edge research in environmental exposure assessment, precision environmental health methodologies, and actionable strategies for mitigating health disparities and shaping public policy worldwide.
Course Date: August 25-28, 2024
The main theme of the 2024 ISEE Annual Conference was “Addressing challenges in environmental health, justice, and development”. The INTERCAMBIO project presented an overview of its work to conference attendees, as well as made a variety of networking connections with other researchers in climate, health, and occupational health at the Conference. INTERCAMBIO researchers also led and participated in a variety of related sessions including on climate change and policy, and conflict of interest in research.
2. Learning Objectives
Evaluate the latest epidemiological evidence linking environmental exposures, such as air pollution, agrochemicals, and PFAS, to adverse health outcomes.
Analyze the impacts of climate change, including extreme weather events and wildfire smoke, on global public health and sustainable development.
Apply novel methodologies, including multi-omics, Bayesian models, and satellite data integration, to advanced environmental health research.
Develop strategies to address environmental injustice and health disparities in industrially contaminated and vulnerable communities.
Translate epidemiological research into health-promoting policies and interventions to mitigate harmful environmental and industrial impacts.
3. Target Audience
Best for epidemiologists, public health professionals, and environmental researchers who want updates on climate health impacts and exposure risks.
