UCSF CME – Managing the EHR Inbox 2023 (Course)
The use of EHR-enabled secure messaging exploded during the Covid-19 pandemic
While patients value digitally-facilitated asynchronous communication, clinicians continue to receive a steady stream of messages from patients, other members of the care team, and automatically generated notifications, and may feel crushed by the expectation of 24/7/365 availability as they the need to spend several hours each day keeping up with inbox messages. In response, health systems are struggling to manage the inbox burden of their clinicians while being responsive to their patients’ needs and preferences.
Join us at this first-of-its-kind, one-day hybrid (in-person/virtual) conference on April 27, 2023, as we explore the challenges and opportunities of asynchronous messaging and the clinician inbox. We’ll highlight models of success from health systems around the country (including digital tools, workflow changes, and approaches drawn from behavioral economics), and tackle big picture issues around the future of technology-enabled care delivery. The conference will feature keynote speakers and interactive panels of experts presenting research and practice-based insights into the challenges and emerging solutions. The meeting will close with opportunities to generate and share ongoing learnings.
