Description:
When transitioning from teeth to implants, clinicians must consider numerous critical risk factors to ensure the success of the procedure. Factors such as esthetic requirements, extraction socket morphology, peri-implant soft tissue biotype, implant macro design, and implant length and diameter must be carefully weighed to make important decisions. Additionally, the implant surface texture, management of the horizontal gap between the socket and implant, provisionalization, and loading protocol must also be taken into account. While scientific evidence informs some of these decisions, many are made based on experience and individual opinion. This presentation provides a rational approach to replacing teeth with implants that includes a predictable protocol.
