From the University of Pittsburgh Anesthesiology Perioperative Update Series. Neurologic Anesthesia is an online CME program that covers diverse topics encompassing physiology to postoperative care — neuroscience of the brain under anesthesia, neurophysiology, care of patients using ERAS and those with acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, pediatric neurosurgical patients, postoperative care of the neurosurgical patient, and perioperative delirium.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

– Review the physiology and pathophysiology of the nervous system during anesthesia
– Discuss the anesthetic management of cerebral aneurysms, ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes
– Review the postoperative care of the neurosurgical patient including complications
