By Aristomenis Exadaktylos, Osnat Keidar, David Shiva Srivastava, Daniel H. Paris As soon as refugees or people with a migration background visit emergency rooms or the family doctor, there are large communicative hurdles. Doctors and nurses are still required to meet patients professionally competently but also interculturally competently and this against the background of increasingly scarce personnel resources and time contingents. Even if the language barriers are not always to be solved, it must be quickly decided which measures are taken for initial examination and emergency care of injury or treatment of serious or chronic diseases. There are no guidelines for treating refugees yet. Since only gender and country of origin are safe during first contact, it is helpful to have the most important classification criteria (e.g. frequencies of infections/diseases/parasites/trauma, etc.). A comprehensive reference book by providing reliable access in structured form by an international medical expert team for the 20 most important countries of origin. A central book part is the country register A-Z. Through register marks by country of origin and quickly captured infographics, doctors get the most important information at a glance (Which culturally sensitive backgrounds can be relevant for the examination? What infections or pre-existing conditions are likely for which country? What vaccinations and laboratory diagnoses are necessary, etc?)
