This compendium for fracture imaging covers the essential areas of fracture diagnostics from head to toe that radiologists and orthopedists/traumatologists encounter in their daily practice. Starting with the basic principles of fracture teaching and special aspects in children and pre-damaged bones, the specifics of the fracture forms, the algorithm of their radiologic diagnosis, and the basic principles of treatment are presented for each section of the musculoskeletal system.
The overall concept of the book is oriented towards interdisciplinarity because it is particularly important in emergency radiology that the radiologist and clinician speak the same language. The following is presented:
- What the orthopedist/traumatologist wants to know about dedicated imaging from the radiologist and
- What the radiologist can tell the orthopedist/traumatologist with which method and what information he needs for this purpose.
The editors focus on clarity rather than completeness of the topics presented: a picture is worth a thousand words. Therefore, this compendium contains a total of 558 illustrations with 117 schematic drawings and, at the beginning of each book chapter, a joint preface by the two editors.
