This course, co-directed by Dr. Mino-Kenudson at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, and Dr. William Travis at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, presents a broad over-view of thoracic pathology with clinical, radiologic, and molecular correlation. It has been sponsored by Massachusetts General Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and endorsed by the Pulmonary Pathology Society.
The course is designed to provide updates on thoracic pathology and aids in diagnosis based on conventional morphologic analysis as well as immunohistochemistry and molecular analyses. The program features conventional didactic lectures with frequent and extensive discussion periods and case-based presentations, including some multidisciplinary sessions, in a virtual format.
The faculty consist of thoracic and molecular pathologists, thoracic radiologists, surgeons, and oncologists, and pulmonologists from Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and other academic medical centers, who have known expertise in the specific subject matter areas. The presentations will illustrate the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to solve difficult problems in thoracic diseases. The target audience for this course includes pathologists, pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, and radiologists, including physicians in training, in both academic and community settings.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
Evaluate individual tests and their tissue requirements for clinical management of advanced lung cancer patients.
Apply the updated staging guidelines for lung cancer.
Analyze current diagnostic criteria for Mesothelioma, including a clinicopathological staging system.
Determine when to apply the international guidelines for the care of patients with Interstitial Lung Disease.
The Harvard Thoracic Pathology 2024 course is designed for healthcare professionals specializing in thoracic diseases and pathology. The target audience includes:
Pathologists focusing on lung and thoracic disorders.
Pulmonologists managing interstitial lung disease and lung cancer.
Thoracic surgeons involved in surgical treatment of thoracic conditions.
Radiologists specializing in imaging for thoracic diseases.
Physicians in training seeking advanced education in thoracic pathology.
This course provides updates on thoracic pathology, including morphologic analysis, immunohistochemistry, and molecular diagnostics, with a multidisciplinary approach to solving complex cases.
