This book, by Concezio Di Rocco, provides an update on various pathological conditions of the CNS that require neurosurgical treatment. It discusses the critical assessment of the relevant nosographic entities that are currently the subject of scientific debate.

The book comprises different chapters, each written by the most eminent international scientists and clinicians in the field of neuroscience. The first chapter analyses the new WHO classification of brain tumors, while the second one is specifically devoted to intracranial tumors in the first years of life. It addresses the technical aspects of neuro-oncological surgery in two chapters.

Two chapters discuss spinal problems, evolving concepts on craniovertebral and spinal instability, and Chiari malformations. Moreover, the management of intracranial arachnoid cysts, as well as subdural hematomas in both adults and children, is presented here.
