This book presents an overview of various CNS pathological conditions requiring neurosurgical treatment. Chapters from renowned international scientists cover the relevant nosographic entities currently under scientific debate.

The first chapter examines the new WHO classification for brain tumours. Two follow-up chapters cover technical aspects of neuro-oncological surgery such as suprasellar approach to infratentorial tumours and how to prevent post-operative speech impairment in pediatric patients. The remaining surgical chapters cover hypothalamic tumours and intracranial schwannomas. A chapter devoted to the latest advances in clinical prediction in neurosurgery also makes an appearance.
