Neurology^® Clinical Practice is an official journal of the American Academy of Neurology.

Vision: Neurology^® Clinical Practice will be the premier peer-reviewed journal to improve patient outcomes in clinical neurology.

Mission: Neurology^® Clinical Practice aims to help clinicians provide unbiased, high-quality care for all neurologic patients. We prioritize papers that address quality, patient outcomes, and practice-related topics.

Neurology^® Clinical Practice (NCP) focuses mainly on two aspects of neurologic care: 1) Clinical research on patient-reported outcomes and quality, including original research articles and meta-analyses/systematic reviews; and 2) Commentaries, reviews, and research articles on general practice, billing and coding, wellness and burnout, diversity and inclusion in the workplace, telehealth, health care policy, and financial management. NCP publishes content online continuously and produces 6 issues per year that are also available to subscribers and US members in print. The Editors reserve the right to decide which content will be published online-only. Priority for online-only publication is given to original research articles and systematic reviews/meta-analyses. Innovations in Neurologic Practice, Case Reports, and Practice Current articles are published online only.

We will continue to consider a small number of selected case reports, prioritizing those that aim to help neurologists in all career stages and practice settings to diagnose and treat patients who present with challenging symptoms and conditions. This includes case series and other content that especially lends itself to presentation in a digital format, such as videos and interactive figures. NCP will not consider NeuroImage or Video NeuroImage submissions. We will consider submissions to a new special category titled “Innovations in Neurologic Practice,” presenting short, focused pieces on the most impactful aspects of care in neurology. These pieces will highlight up-to-date diagnostic tools and treatment strategies for the benefit of community and hospital-based practitioners.

The 2023 Impact Factor for Neurology^® Clinical Practice is 3.1.

Note: NCP papers may be published online only or in print and online at the discretion of the editor. Abstracts of NCP articles are delivered to PubMed Central (PMC) after they publish online and are searchable shortly thereafter. Abstracts listed in PMC will include the DOI linking to the full article on the NCP website. Complete NCP articles will be available in PMC one year after publication. NCP is currently indexed in Embase, Scopus, CrossRef, Google Scholar, and Emerging Sources Citation Index.
