However, due to it being out of print, there is a need for an updated and concise source of avian surgical anatomy. Our objective in this new edition has been to recapture the musculoskeletal anatomy of the original work and expand the scope to include comprehensive coverage for the clinical management of common fractures of the long bones of birds, primarily raptors. This information is backed by two decades of development and refinement by clinicians at the Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota, making it a reliable resource.
