The chapters dealing with the general aspects of environment and pollution are given in the beginning followed by those which are relatively more specialized and elucidate specific effects of the environmental components on flora fauna and materials. Some chapters demonstrate as to how plants respond to the varying environmental scenario how they tend to adapt to the existing conditions and how these can serve as pollution indicators.
