The new edition continues to have a large number of authors from the Complutense University (Madrid), to whom new collaborators have been incorporated, contributing both their teaching experience (University of Santiago de Compostela, European University of Madrid, CEU San Pablo, Univ. Católica de Murcia), as a clinic (Virgen de la Paloma Hospital, Madrid Hospital Group and Princess Hospital). Likewise, it also has Latin American collaborators (Argentina, Venezuela and Mexico). Although its basic structure is similar to that of the previous edition, It is indisputable that new techniques and new pathological processes have caused notable changes, the most representative being those relating to malignant tumor pathology and orofacial trauma. The text covers a wide range of procedures, from the simplest techniques of extractions, through dental inclusions, to complex surgeries and their possible complications. It deals with the topic of oro-nasal and oro-nasal communications, and delves into the diagnosis and treatment of oro-maxillofacial infections. The study and treatment of cysts and tumors of the jaws and soft tissues is addressed, without forgetting the diagnosis by means of conventional radiology, computed tomography, PET-CT and magnetic resonance imaging. There is a part of the book dedicated to implantology including its indications, planning and execution and it ends with the restorative part.
