Focus GEEW: ERCP From Basics To Master – An Overview Of The Michel Cremer – Jacques Devière School Of ERCP

GEEW IS EVOLVING
Following the 40th edition, we have decided to refocus our educational activities on the organisation of single-topic meetings called “FOCUS GEEW”.
These one-day meetings, held 2 or 3 times a year, will provide each a more in-depth look at a particular pathology and/or endoscopic technique and will target healthcare professionals who are particularly devoted to this topic, as well as beginners in this field. Indeed, given the development of digestive endoscopy techniques we are witnessing an hyper-specialisation in this field.
In doing so, we hope to reinvigorate the community of former GEEW participants by including cross-disciplines (gastroenterology, hepatology, oncology, digestive surgery, endoscopy nurses, etc) and offering them the opportunity to deepen in a single day their knowledge of a specific subject.
The chosen topic for the first Focus GEEW scheduled on Friday, March 22, 2024 is “ERCP From Basics To Master”, reflecting our Institution’s reputation in this technique, Michel Cremer being a pioneer in interventional ERCP in the early and mid 1970s, and his legacy has been maintained and enhanced by Jacques Devière.
A dense and dynamic programme will cover all aspects of ERCP indications and techniques with practical short lectures, didactic live endoscopy demonstrations, quiz, Q&A and panel discussion. Our aim is to promote maximum interaction between the audience and the experts, so that participants can easily return to the key points presented by the experts and exchange their point of view.
The meeting will take place in the Auditorium De Genst, Building W Of The Université Libre De Bruxelles Faculty Of Medicine, Campus Erasme, In Brussels (Anderlecht) Close To The Hospital (same location as the 40th GEEW).
Focus GEEW will be promoted to our international audience, who will be invited to attend in person in Brussels. However, we can not ignore the current trend to offer those who cannot travel the opportunity to follow distance learning as a more sustainable and budget friendly alternative, so the meeting will aslo be accessible online through our website, live streamed but also on-demand for one month after the event.
The meeting is designed for endoscopists and gastroenterologists, but also for physicians in training as well as for nurses and GI assistants
ESGE (European Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy) endorsement is requested.
